Voices from the Bay 1998

Released in 1998, Voices from the Bay was one of the first surveys to combine traditional ecological knowledge and science to present an overview of the Hudson Bay Bioregion. Inuit and Cree elders shaped the tone and sentiment of the book; it’s relevance today is uncanny as it indicates changes in the Arctic already apparent from development and climate change. Currently CARC is working with the Hudson Bay Consortium on digitizing this seminal work for our website. We are both hoping that one day CARC and the HBC can release a Voices from the Bay II. You are welcome to email us here if you are interested in Voices from the Bay and/or getting a copy.
